How to Use

+

Evening routine (recommended)

  1. Cleanse your face with a gentle cleanser and pat completely dry.
  2. If your skin is sensitive, wait 5–10 minutes after cleansing before applying.
  3. Apply a pea-sized amount to the face, or only to the areas of concern.
  4. Gently massage until fully absorbed.
  5. Avoid the eyes, eyelids, lips, corners of the nose and any broken or irritated skin.
  6. Follow with a moisturiser if extra hydration is needed.

How often to use it

Beginners — 2–3 nights per week for the first 2 weeks. Intermediate — every other night. Experienced — once every evening if well tolerated. Do not apply more than once daily unless advised by a dermatologist.

If you use it in the morning

Cleanse, apply a thin layer, let it absorb, follow with moisturiser if needed, and always finish with a broad-spectrum sunscreen (SPF 30 or higher). Night-time use is generally preferred, because AHAs can increase the skin's sensitivity to sunlight.

Tips for best results

Apply a thin, even layer and avoid overapplying. Moisturise regularly to maintain the skin barrier, and wear sunscreen every morning. Consistent use for 6–12 weeks generally gives the best visible cosmetic results.

Key Ingredients

+

Active ingredient

  • Mandelic Acid 5% — a gentle Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA) derived from bitter almonds. Its larger molecular size means it penetrates more slowly than other AHAs, making it suitable for regular exfoliation with a lower risk of irritation. It helps improve uneven tone, refine texture, reduce the look of post-acne marks and promote a smoother, brighter complexion.

Supporting active

  • Allantoin — a skin-conditioning ingredient known for its soothing and moisturising properties. It calms the skin, supports the barrier and minimises the dryness or irritation that can occur during exfoliation.

Full ingredient list

Aqua (Water), Cetyl Alcohol, Stearic Acid, Cetomacrogol, Stearyl Alcohol, Liquid Paraffin, Cyclopentasiloxane, Isopropyl Myristate, Propylene Glycol, Mandelic Acid, Allantoin, Disodium EDTA, BHT (Butylated Hydroxytoluene), DMDM Hydantoin.

Works Well With

+

Morning pairings

Hyaluronic Acid Serum, Niacinamide Serum, Ceramide Moisturiser, Vitamin E Cream, Sunscreen SPF 30–50+.

Evening pairings

Hyaluronic Acid Serum, Ceramide Barrier Cream, Peptide Serum, Panthenol Cream, Centella Asiatica Serum.

Use with caution

Vitamin C (L-ascorbic acid) — some people tolerate it, but layering it in the same routine can increase irritation; consider alternating routines. Azelaic Acid — generally compatible but may increase irritation on sensitive skin. Benzoyl Peroxide — may increase dryness.

Avoid in the same routine

Glycolic Acid, Lactic Acid, high-strength leave-on Salicylic Acid, Retinol (unless your skin tolerates it or a dermatologist advises), prescription retinoids such as tretinoin, adapalene or tazarotene, strong exfoliating scrubs and chemical peels.

Ideal For

+

Skin types

Normal, combination, oily, dry, acne-prone and mildly sensitive skin (introduce gradually).

Skin concerns

Uneven skin tone, post-acne marks, mild hyperpigmentation, rough texture, dullness, enlarged pores, fine surface lines and early photoaging.

Recommended age

18 years and above for general cosmetic use. Teenagers with acne-prone skin may use it under the guidance of a dermatologist or skincare professional.

Who should avoid it

Anyone allergic to mandelic acid or a listed ingredient, or with severely irritated, broken or infected skin. Those with active eczema, severe rosacea or dermatitis on the treatment area should seek advice first. Anyone taking oral isotretinoin should consult their dermatologist before using exfoliating acids. Very sensitive skin should start with less frequent use.

Safety & Storage

+

Caution

For external use only. Perform a patch test before first use. Avoid contact with the eyes, lips and mucous membranes. Do not apply to broken, irritated, sunburned or infected skin. Mild tingling may occur during the first few applications. If persistent irritation, burning, swelling or rash develops, discontinue use and consult a healthcare professional. Avoid using several exfoliating products in the same routine unless advised. Daily broad-spectrum sunscreen (SPF 30 or higher) is recommended while using this product. Keep out of reach of children.

Pregnancy & breastfeeding

Topical 5% mandelic acid has low systemic absorption, but because this is a leave-on cream, pregnant individuals should consult their obstetrician or healthcare provider before use, and use only if recommended. Generally considered compatible while breastfeeding when used as directed — avoid applying to the nipple or breast area before nursing.

Drug interactions

Use caution alongside prescription retinoids (tretinoin, adapalene, tazarotene), high-strength benzoyl peroxide, other leave-on AHAs or BHAs, and prescription exfoliating products. Consult your dermatologist if you are being treated for acne or pigmentation.

Storage & shelf life

Store below 30°C in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat. Keep the tube tightly closed. Do not freeze. Shelf life 24 months from manufacture; use within 12 months of opening.

FAQ

+

How long will one tube last?

A 30 g tube lasts roughly 8–10 weeks with once-daily use, or about 4–5 weeks if used twice daily.

Will it sting?

Mild tingling can happen during the first few applications and normally settles. If burning, swelling or persistent irritation develops, stop using it.

How often should a beginner use it?

Start with 2–3 nights per week for the first 2 weeks, then move to every other night, and only nightly once your skin tolerates it well.

Can I use it with retinol or other acids?

Not in the same routine. Avoid layering it with Glycolic Acid, Lactic Acid, strong Salicylic Acid, retinol or prescription retinoids unless a dermatologist advises otherwise.

Do I need sunscreen with it?

Yes — AHAs increase the skin's sensitivity to sunlight, so wear a broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher every morning.
